I teach all the German classes at Cathedral, from German 1 to IB levels 3 and 4 and AP level 5. Follow the links below for more specific information about each course. Tutorials are during Flex on Days 1, 2, 6 and 7, and after school in the SLC from 3:15-4:00.
Deutsch 1
Deutsch 2
Deutsch 3
LK Deutsch 4/5
In the 2019-2020 school year, I will be adapting curriculum that I've used from the past four years, based on the textbooks Mosaik and Denk Mal!. Although my curriculum is based on those books, I do heavily supplement the activities with additional exercises and games in class.
I also use the guidelines set by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) regarding end-of-year goals for each level. By the end of German 1, you should be able to achieve the Novice High level. By the end of German 2, you should be at Intermediate Low. At the end of German 3, you should have the skills outlined in the Intermediate Mid level. AP German will focus on getting to the Intermediate High or Advanced Low level.
